Police Investigate Shooting Incident-2100 Block of W. White St.

On Tuesday, March 22 at approximately 10:21 PM, Champaign Police responded to the 2100 Block of W. White St. for a report of shots fired.  While en route to the scene, officers received report that a gunshot victim had been located in the 200 Block of S. Country Fair Drive.  The victim, a 25-year-old Champaign man, was transported to the hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

Preliminary investigation reveals that an unknown assailant allegedly shot the victim as he was walking toward his residence at Gramercy Park Apartments.  A citizen reported hearing one shot, a group of males yelling and cars driving off at a high speed.  The victim was only able to describe the suspect as a Black male.  No arrests have been made at this time.
