Champaign Police Investigate Shooting Incident

On January 28, 2016 at approximately 6:32 PM, Champaign Police responded to 1503 N. Neil Street in Champaign for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 29 year old male that had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Carle Hospital in serious condition.

Information concerning this incident is still being developed, and Champaign Police are currently processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. The suspect is described as a black male,  wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a baseball cap.

Champaign Police Detectives ask that anyone with information relating to this incident to contact the Champaign Police Department Investigations Division at 217-351-4545.
