The City of Champaign has awarded a contract to Stark Excavating of Bloomington, Illinois. This work will reconstruct Mattis Avenue from south of Curtis Road to south of Congressional Way. Mattis Avenue will be closed to all traffic during construction.
Motorists are directed to follow the detour route around the project. Access to Carle Clinic will be open to Freedom Drive, along the east side of the Carle facility. The proposed improvement will consist of the construction of a new portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement, PCC sidewalks, storm sewers, and streetlights. This work will begin onJune 22, 2015, and is to be completed by October 30, 2015.
