CPD and Campus Community Alcohol Task Force Offer Free ID Training Classes

The Champaign Police Department’s “Straight ID” program is offering several free training courses to teach persons who work as an Alcohol or Tobacco vendor, how to properly check an ID.

Funded by the Strategic Prevention Framework grant through the Illinois Department of Human Services, and obtained in partnership with Community Elements of Champaign, this training aims to address underage alcohol and tobacco access and decrease consumption issues for minors.  As part of community safety education and advisory, Champaign Police offers the course for individuals who serve/sell alcohol and/or tobacco.

 

The “Straight ID” training course covers topics such as:

  • What are the laws and penalties for using a fake ID?
  • What are the special security features of ID’s?
  • How can a fake ID be detected?
  • I think I have a fake ID, what do I do?

 

Training classes will be held on Wednesday, June 3 and Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Champaign Police Department, 82 E. University Avenue.  Participants may register for one of several training times:

 

Wed, June 3:   5PM – 6PM; 6PM – 7PM; OR 7PM – 8PM

Mon, June 22: 5PM – 6PM; 6PM – 7PM; OR 7PM – 8PM
