Champaign Fire Department and the Champaign Exchange Club Honors Fire Fighter of the Year Recipient
The Champaign Fire Department and the Champaign Exchange Club will honor the 2014 Fire Fighter of the Year recipient, Engineer Josh Jessup, on April 6, 2015 during a ceremony being held at O’Charley’s Restaurant, 720 W. Town Center Blvd., from 12:00 to 1:00.
When responding to the news that he had received the 2014 Fire Fighter of the Year Award, Engineer Jessup said, “I am flattered to be given this great honor and humbled by the attention. I don’t believe that the work I, and others, have done to implement a Behavioral Health Program and Peer Support Team is deserving of such a distinguished award. The recognition and support of my fellow firefighters, the Union, the Fire Department Administration and the City of Champaign has been overwhelming but has reinforced the need for the program development and implementation. I am forever grateful for this honor and for the Exchanges Club’s efforts to recognize the professionalism and exceptional service provided by all emergency responders in the City of Champaign.”
