In early 2014, staff from the Planning and Development Department inquired about the possibility of locating an MTD kiosk on Church Street to create a more central and visible transit location near the busy intersection of Neil and Main Street.
In late 2014, a new kiosk was installed thanks to the cooperation of the MTD, Public Works, and Pavlov Media. This new bus only loading zone improves the visibility of transit service to the heart Downtown while relocating a challenging bus stop at the corner of Church and Randolph Street.
Internet service was provided wirelessly by Pavlov Media from their corporate headquarters across the street at 125 West Church Street. The new kiosk features the MTD’s STOPwatch location service along with weather and important route information. Utility work was paid for from the City’s Food and Beverage fund and the kiosk was installed by MTD crews.
