Once again, the City’s has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Award for the Fiscal Year 2014/15 budget document. The City has received this award annually for 24 years, which shows a strong commitment to producing the highest quality budget document that reflects the guidelines and best practices established by GFOA and the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting. Selected members of the GFOA professional staff and other experienced public-sector budgeting professionals throughout the United States and Canada review the annual budget document.
Finance staff uses the feedback from these reviews to improve the budget document each year. Finance staff is continuing the City’s sustainability efforts through electronic document submission (#greenchampaign).
