Starting Monday, August 11, 2014, weather permitting, Cross Construction will CLOSE Market Street between Olympian Drive and Ford Harris Road, to begin construction activities for the resurfacing of this section of Market Street.
A marked detour route will be in place to direct traffic around the project. The detour route will utilize Olympian Drive and Interstate 57.
The project improvements include resurfacing of the existing two-lane pavement, the addition of a two-foot paved safety shoulder, culvert replacement, ditch cleaning, and re-grading as necessary.
The project has a final completion date of September 19, 2014.
The City of Champaign apologizes for any inconveniences caused by the construction work and thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during the project.
