Champaign Police Conduct Shooting Investigation

The Champaign Police Department is currently investigating a shooting which occurred Saturday in the 1000 block of N. Sixth Street at approximately 12:24 PM.

Police received a report of a man being shot and witnesses seeing the armed male offender flee from the area. Officers arrived on the scene and found an unconscious 22 year-old, male, gunshot victim. The victim was transported to Carle Emergency for medical treatment.

Witnesses provided the following description of the offender who is believed to be connected to this shooting:

  • Black male, between 17-25 years old; approximately 5’9” tall and wearing a white  shirt and blue jean shorts or pants.
