The Champaign Police Department is currently investigating a reported abduction that occurred just outside the North-East entrance to JC Penney at Market Place Mall yesterday at approximately 4:05 p.m.
Champaign Police responded and learned that the 19 year-old female victim was outside Market Place with another 22 year-old male friend when they were approached by three male Hispanic suspects. The female victim was forced into a red Chevy Silverado pickup truck by Suspect #1, while Suspect #2 threatened the male victim with a knife. Suspect #3 remained in the truck during the abduction. The three male Hispanic suspects fled in the truck with the female victim inside. The male victim was not injured.
During the investigation it was learned that Suspect #1 is Eduardo Guerrero, and he and the female victim had a previous dating relationship. It was also learned that Eduardo borrowed this pickup truck earlier in the day from a person unrelated to this incident.
The Champaign Police Department is currently investigating this incident with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Champaign Police are sharing this information with law enforcement agencies in our area and throughout the state. Champaign Police are requesting any possible sightings be reported to police by calling 911 immediately.
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Red 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Pickup Truck, with Illinois license 92502H. It has a silver tool box in the box and aluminum wheels.
SUSPECT #1: Eduardo Guerrero:
- Age 25, Hispanic male, 5’4/150, last known address: Texas, Houston area.
- Last seen wearing red white brown horizontal striped t-shirt, long blue shorts, red hat.
- “Monica” tattoo on left side of neck, “Jaylen” tattoo outside of left forearm.
- Missing three middle fingers on right hand
- Piercing on right eyebrow
- Eduardo is believed to be living in Texas but did live in Rantoul, IL several years ago
- Hispanic male
- Red shirt, blue shorts, short hair
- Armed with 12″ black knife
