CFD Fire Information Report
Narrative: Champaign Fire Department responded to a report of a large fire in the basement of a residence with occupants still inside. Fire Crews arrived to find no smoke or flames visible from the street. Once crews made entry to the building, they found light smoke and a small fire in the basement. A hose line was deployed to quickly extinguish the fire. The house, which had been converted to multi-family, was searched for victims and ventilated. There were no civilian or fire personnel injuries reported

Other Information: Emergency Services Support Team (ESST) members and the University of Illinois Emergency Deans Office are working to meet the needs of the building occupants. All but one occupant was able to remain at the building.
