Working closely with the Champaign Police Department, Information Technologies Department staff recently produced three 60-second public service announcements (PSAs) which promote responsible drinking and accountability.  Though the PSAs were released just before “Unofficial”, they were produced so they can be aired anytime of the year.

One PSA features three University of Illinois football players (Wes Lunt, Mason Monheim, and Austin Teitsma), encouraging their fellow students to be responsible and act like adults.  Another PSA features Brian Farber, Associate Dean of Students at UI, reminding students that poor choices on and off campus can impact their
academic careers.

The final PSA features City of Champaign Lt. Jim Clark, reminding students about the responsibilities of party hosts and the consequences of breaking the law in regards to alcohol.

The PSAs were shown on CGTV, the City’s website, the City’s YouTube channel, and the City’s other social media sites.  The PSAs were also shared with the other local access channels (UPTV, UI-7, PCTV), local media, and distributed via a wide variety of social media sites frequented by college students.
