Children’s Librarian Mike Rogalla Featured in ALSC “Voices & Faces” Column

Champaign Public Library Children’s Librarian Mike Rogalla was interviewed in the December “Voices & Faces” column on the American Library Services to Children (ALSC) website.  ALSC is a division of the American Library Association.

Rogalla earned his master’s degree from the UIUC Graduate School of Library and Information Science and has been at the Champaign Public Library since 1993.

In the interview, Rogalla cited his two years on the Notable Children’s Books Committee as a favorite ALSC memory. Rogalla gave the Champaign library more than $37,000 worth of new children’s books sent to him for review as part of that process.

Rogalla also noted his many years of service as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Mahomet, a duty that found him unexpectedly helping to deliver the baby of a library co-worker earlier in 2013.
