The City of Champaign has closed Springfield Avenue between First Street and Neil Street until 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2013. The Champaign Fire Department and Public Works Department are continuing to address the site of a fire that occurred at 40 E. Springfield Avenue during the early morning hours on Saturday. North and south routes near this area (First Street, Water Street) may also be affected to through traffic. The public is encouraged to find alternate routes to access the Campustown area, including University Avenue, Green Street, and Windsor Road.
