The Champaign County Continuum of Care (CoC) met on November 5 to approve its new Governance Charter, part of the requirements of the HEARTH Act. The Executive Committee of the CoC is now elected instead of appointed. Neighborhood Programs Manager Kerri Spear begins a year-long term as Chair of the CoC. Other business included a presentation from the Housing Authority of Champaign County regarding a timeline for a new proposed emergency family shelter. They also continue developing a monitoring tool and implementing “coordinated intake” for homeless service providers in the area.
