1010 W. Maple St. Demolition

The property at 1010 W. Maple St. was cited for exterior code violations on January 10, 2012 by Property Maintenance Inspector Michael Novotny. The case was referred to the Legal Department on May 11, 2012. A fifteen day notice of Intent to Seek a Repair or Demolition Order was posted on the property on July 20, 2012. An Order of Default Judgement was entered on May 20, 2013. The Order authorized the City to demolish the structure. Property Maintenance Inspector Tim Spear issued the demolition bid request for proposals on July 19, 2013. Owens Excavating and Trucking LLC was selected as the winning bidder on August 5, 2013. The contract was finalized and a Notice to Proceed was issued on September 5, 2013. Demolition commenced on October 17, 2013 and was completed on October 22, 2013. Once Building Safety has given final approval of the demolition permit the contractor will be paid and a lien will be placed on the property.
