Police Conduct Death Investigation

On October 16, 2013 at approximately 12:28 PM Champaign Police received a report of a death in the 400 block of W. Eureka. 

Upon arrival, officers located the skeletal remains of an individual reported to live in the home. The family member reporting the death, who also lived in the home, indicated the individual was his brother and he was developmentally disabled. The reporting family member also reported that they had been the care-taker for this individual for the past 10 years. 

At this point in the investigation the manner and cause of death are unknown to investigators. It is believed the individual died quite some time ago but police do not know why there was a delay in reporting the death. Therefore, investigators will continue to follow-up this incident.
