A 19-year-old, University of Illinois student, is hospitalized at Carle Hospital after falling three stories from a house, located in the 300 block of E. Armory Street.
This morning, at 12:03 a.m., police responded to the area to assist the Champaign Fire Department with this call. Upon arrival, officers observed approximately 100 people running from the area and a woman lying on the ground, unconscious and breathing. Witnesses report that the woman was near a fire escape, located on the third floor of the house, at the time of the fall. Preliminary information indicates that a party was held at the residence and that alcohol was present.
Police are currently investigating this incident to determine circumstances regarding the woman’s fall. The Department also notified an emergency dean at the University of Illinois about the incident for family notification.
