Champaign police are currently conducting a death investigation in the 100 block of E. Roper Street.
On September 6, 2013, at approximately 12:27 PM, police were dispatched to a check welfare call at the victim’s home. Upon arrival, officers met with family members who were at the home of an unresponsive woman. Preliminary information indicates that the woman sustained apparent life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are currently in the area conducting interviews and searching for evidence which may provide more information about the suspicious death. The Champaign County Coroner’s Office was summoned to the scene.
