The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has informed the City of Champaign that the week of September 3 – 6, 2013, IDOT will have a contractor performing street maintenance work on Springfield Avenue (IL 10), between Prospect Avenue and Mattis Avenue, in Champaign, and on University Avenue (US 45), between Wright Street and Race Street in Urbana.
The contractor will be performing pavement crack routing and sealing work. The routing and sealing work is a moving operation involving lane closures and flaggers for traffic control. Side street intersections will be temporarily shut off as the moving operation goes by. IDOT anticipates work occurring first on University Avenue then Springfield Avenue second.
IDOT expects the work will take no longer than two to three days total, weather permitting.
