The first event is on Friday, Sept. 6th for the balanced calendar schools of Barkstall Elementary, Kenwood Elementary, and Thomasboro Elementary. Children will assemble at a predesignated spot before school starts and then walk to school with volunteers, including Mayor Don Gerard (Barkstall) and University of Illinois student athletes (all locations).
