Search Continues for Sexual Assault Suspects

In the early morning hours of Sunday September 23, 2012, a 23 year old female, Champaign County resident was taken from the dance floor of the Chester Street bar by a male who was later identified as 23-year-old Alfredo CAMPOS¬ALVAREZ, 25, of Urbana. Alfredo CAMPOS-ALVAREZ reportedly walked the female to a waiting vehicle occupied by 4 other males. Those males were ultimately identified as 25-year-old Alejandro CAMPOS-ALVAREZ of 25 Rowena, Urbana; 19-year-old Christian JAIMES-RODRIGUEZ of 37 Raintree, Champaign; 37-year-old Adan CAMPOS-MARTINEZ (Mexico) and 23-year-old Pedro VALERIO-MENDEZ (Mexico).

The victim reported that she last remembered being out with friends at a different night club and that she awoke on the floor of a bedroom in a small ranch style home where she was being sexually assaulted by a male. The victim was able to get up and get dressed and walk out of the bedroom where she encountered four other males. The victim indicated that she was able to convince two of the males to take her to a friend’s apartment where they dropped her off. The victim then reported the incident to police and was treated at a local hospital.

Over the course of the investigation Champaign Police developed leads that allowed them to identify and apprehend Alfredo CAMPOS-ALVAREZ, Alejandro CAMPOS-ALVAREZ and Christian JAIMES-RODRIGUEZ on the morning of Friday August 23, 2013. They were arrested for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault. Champaign Police believe that Adan CAMPOS-MARTINEZ and Pedro VALERIO-MENDEZ fled to Mexico shortly after the incident. Warrants have been issued for their arrests with a bond of $5,000,000.
