Mayor’s Emergency Order for Saturday, June 29th

I. Don Gerard, in my capacity as the Liquor Commissioner for the City of Champaign. Illinois, and pursuant to authority granted me in Section 5-91.1 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985 as amended, entitled “Emergency powers,” do hereby enter the following emergency order in relation to the events known as Bloomington Gold Corvette Tour and Blues, Brews and BBQ taking place June 29, 2013:

All businesses currently holding a bar or restaurant liquor license (Class A or Class R) permitting that license holder to sell or serve alcoholic beverages for consumption on the licensed premises, within the City limits of the City of Champaign in the area bounded by Washington on the north (excluding the City’s parking deck), Chestnut Street (extended) on the east, University on the south and Randolph on the west (see attached map) shall be restricted in the following manner:

1. Possession of alcohol in the City public right of way will be allowed in the area detailed above; the alcohol must be served in and possessed in plastic cups or in a Blues, Brews & BBQ commemorative mug, from 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 30,2013.
