During June 9-13 the City of Champaign Fire Department will be well represented at the Annual meeting of the prestigious National Fire Protection Association. The meeting is being held at McCormick Place in Chicago this year. Fire Chief Doug Forsman will be delivering a presentation on our safety program for first responders working at incidents on interstate highways. Retiring Public Information Officer Dena Schumacher will be speaking on our pre-school accident prevention program. Deputy Fire Marshal Janet Maupin will be staffing an information booth on innovative campus fire safety programs. In addition, the Association will be honoring Dena for her many years of leadership at the national level in the areas of life safety education and fire service public information.
