The Champaign Police Department is investigating a case in which a 20 year-old Parkland College student was forced into a vehicle where he was battered and robbed.
On March 2, 2013, at approximately 2:41 AM, the victim reported walking to a friend’s apartment in the 00 block of Green Street. He was then pushed into the back seat of a white 4-door Pontiac and seated next to two males. Three more males sat in the front seat of the car. The males then battered the victim and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from him. When the vehicle approached Mattis Avenue and Springer Drive, the victim was thrown from the vehicle.
Per the victim’s account, all of the suspects were black males appearing to be under 20 years of age, dressed in dark or black clothing and all approximately 5’9” tall. One of the males in the back seat wore a red and white Chicago Blackhawks hat.
The Department is currently investigating this crime and seeking information from the public.
