Glenn Park Drive Public Input Meeting – September 27, 2012

As part of the ongoing City efforts to elicit public comments on the
West Washington Street Drainage Improvements, a meeting was held on-site at Glenn Park on September 27 to allow nearby residents to see and discuss several concept plans for the proposed Glenn Park Detention basin facilities. City staff along with the project consultant discussed the concepts plans one-on-one with approximately a dozen residents who attended the meeting. The purpose of the meetings was to gain input from residents on the appearance and function of the detention basins.

A hot topic of discussion was whether or not Glenn Park could be combined with the new detention basin facility to reshape Glenn Park and the detention facility into a larger amenity. Another topic of discussion was whether it would be possible to remove the WIRCO Foundry Truck traffic from the neighborhood streets by providing them direct access off of Mattis Avenue.
