Description:
A public forum to share information about the UC2B project, including the UC2B Expansion competition that ends July 30, 2012. UC2B is our local, community broadband project bringing some of the nation’s fastest fiber optic Internet to residences and businesses.  Learn about what UC2B offers in the grant-eligible neighborhoods as well as the UC2B Expansion competition.  More details about the competition are enclosed below.

UC2B Expansion Competition:
UC2B has an opportunity to bring fast fiber optic Internet to all of C-U and Savoy.  Our community is entering a competition against 36 other college towns. A private provider will choose 6 winning communities to build fiber optic Internet.

To win, we are inviting residents to pay $100 as a commitment fee by July 30. This fee will be refunded in full if our community does not win, so there’s nothing to lose.  If our community wins, residents would pay a $400 installation fee and would commit to subscribing to fast Internet for at least 12 months. The best part is that you earn $510 in discounts on monthly service.

Sign up at http://www.uc2b.net/expansion/

Neighborhoods with the most people who sign up by July 30 will be connected first. Sign up to help put your neighborhood ahead of the pack.  Fiber optic broadband will provide faster, cheaper Internet than what is available today. It also adds roughly $5,000 to your property value.  To win, we need residents to prove that our community wants some of the fastest Internet in the nation.
