Stark Excavating continues work on the North Fourth Street Extension. Storm sewer work within the intersection of Fourth Street and Bradley Avenue was completed last week. This week, Stark’s focus will be on continuing the storm sewer northward, while constructing curbs and sidewalks near the intersection. Though some lane closures have been necessary, traffic has moved through the construction site with only slight delays.
This project will improve the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Fourth Street, and will extend Fourth Street approximately 450 feet past the northern edge of Douglass Square. The project will increase safety in the area, improve access to Douglass Square, and help facilitate local development. The project is currently ahead of schedule, expected to be completed in advance of the September 14, 2012 deadline.
