Police Search for Armed Robbery Suspect (Illini Arcade, 33 E. Springfield Avenue)

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an armed robbery suspect who took an undisclosed amount of cash from Illini Arcade on May 6, 2012, at approximately 8:49 p.m.

Officers received information that a man entered the business, armed with a knife, and demanded money from a female employee. The suspect then ordered the employee to follow him out of the store to a nearby parking lot. He then ran eastbound on Springfield Avenue.

There were two customers in the store during the robbery. None reported being physically harmed or approached by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old, 5’7 tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, brown, thinning hair and a beard. He wore glasses and a black hooded pullover sweatshirt.
