Work began this week on the demolition of the Robinson Court properties near Washington and Russell Streets. This work is part of the West Washington Street Drainage Improvement Project, which includes turning the Robinson Court area into a stormwater detention basin. Clearing Robinson Court is the first step in the implementation of the drainage improvement plan.
Miller Enterprises is performing the demolition and plans to work seven days a week in order to complete the project more quickly. Work on Sundays will start at 9 a.m. and the adjacent residents will be notified of this plan. Work on Sundays will be evaluated to see how much of a disruption this creates in the neighborhood. If it creates too much disruption, work on Sundays will be eliminated from the project schedule. The project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2012.
