CPD Lieutenant Provides Excited Delirium Training

Champaign Police Lieutenant Michael Paulus continues to be active in providing training to law enforcement agencies around the State as well as Indiana on Excited Delirium Syndrome Response. Lt. Paulus has presented recently at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago as well as in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He presented in Rockford, IL where agencies from Rockford PD, Sycamore PD and Ogle County Sheriff’s Office were among the attendees. He presented a one day class in Hinsdale, IL for the Illinois Tactical Officers Association on February 14th for suburban law enforcement agencies as well as dispatchers and other stakeholders. He will be in Decatur, IL on February 17th for his three-hour presentation as part of the 40-hour State-Certified Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training course. This CIT course offering will feature a mother who lost her son as a result of his experiencing an Excited Delirium incident in Springfield, IL a number of years ago. She is passionate about the training that Lt. Paulus provides to officers in the hopes that others might be saved.
