Prior to the Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, City of Champaign Fire and Police will honor identified community heroes who stepped up in a crisis or crunch situation and assisted police officers and firefighters. A cookie and punch reception will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. in the City Building atrium. Council Members, department heads, and nominating police and fire officers will be on hand to thank the 2012 Heroes and Helping Hands recipients at the reception. Honorees will be recognized at 7:00 p.m. at the start of the Council Meeting.
